Ling decided to volunteer for two reasons. I can learn something [by volunteering]. The other thing is that I can help people with my knowledge. Through the Project's training and assistance, she has become familiar with tax laws. Ling enjoys volunteering with the Project because of the impact she can have on her neighbors. (read more)

 
As an Accounting student at Chicago's DePaul University, Paloma Reyes attended a presentation about volunteering at the Center for Economic Progress. Paloma started volunteering in 2003, and now serves as an Assistant Site Manager at the Center's Uptown location. (read more)

Tax Counseling Project volunteer Unique Washington first found out about the Center for Economic Progress from the other side of the table, as a client. She said, I had my taxes prepared [by the Project] for several years. I looked into volunteering while I wasn't working. (read more)
